I’ve compiled a list of a few good suggestions as Father’s Day golf gifts. Some of these are items I’ve reviewed, know about or carry in the TGS SHOP. They’re not in any particular order, just the order in which they leaked out of my cranium. MySack – $14.99 MySack is the best selling product in the

I want a Nike backpack shirt like Francesco Molinari’s

I’m watching the first round of the Players Championship at the famous TPC Sawgrass Stadium course today. I’m half in and out of golf consciousness when I thought I saw a golfer wearing a little lady’s black backpack with thin straps. You know, the kind you see in a New York department store

Swag Golf Shirts Are Great

So Im going to be spending a full day at the Tuesday practice round of the Masters last week. I have about 12.8 billion golf shirts in my wardrobe to choose from. I chose to wear my white Swag Golf bamboo charcoal golf shirt.

About Swag Golf Shirts

Swag Golf shirts are made from bamboo charcoal which is basically burnt bamboo. Bamboo is a fast growing grass and thus more eco-friendly and sustainable as a consumable.

Bamboo charcoal also has some great inherent features. It is anti-bacterial, anti fungal, anti-static and self deodorizing. I really need that last feature.

Swag says the shirt promotes the human bodys bio processes such as increased metabolism and blood circulation. Im not sure about that one, but I cant prove em wrong since I havent measured my blood circulation with and without the shirt on

Looks

Bamboo aside, the shirt simply looks awesome. Theres a hint of an argyle pattern in the body of the shirt which gives it a cool look. The logo looks nice. The cut and sizing of the shirt are very stylish.

On the course, or Augusta National as the case may be

Ive worn my Swag Golf shirt for many golf rounds already, as well as while walking the grounds at Augusta National last week. The shirt is extremely comfortable and I can tell it breaths very well. Even in the 85 degree, high moisture conditions in Georgia last week, I was cool and dry. During golf swings there are no tugs or tight areas. No swing restriction or compromises in comfort.

Conclusion

Swag Golf shirts are stylish, comfortable, environmentally friendly and they just plain look great. I wish my pals at Swag Golf great success in their business.

Puma Cell Fusion Golf Shoes

One of my favorite companies is Puma. Their gear is so cool looking and it is very high performance. My Swing GTX shoes are awesome but now they have to share my foot time with my new Puma Cell Fusion golf shoes.

Cell Fusion Features

Pumas Cell Fusion shoes are high performance waterproof leather golf shoes. They have Smart Quill spikes similar to the Swing GTXs, but now there are some removable and configurable ones as well. The quills can be locked into varying positions to provide extra solid traction from the most crucial angles.

Looks

The hot golf babes see my Cell Fusions and theyre all over me, just like Puma player Rickie Fowler. Well, at least they dig my shoes. Seriously, these shoes are very sharp and stylish and in Puma fashion, theyre unique and trendy. They dont look like every other golf shoe.

Feel and comfort

Like my other Puma golf shoes, these are so light and comfortable that sometimes I dont feel like I even have shoes on. The Cell Fusions were comfortable right out of the box and still are, after a good 30+ rounds logged.

Part of the comfort is due to the Puma iCell technology. I guess Apple Computer didnt register that name so Puma snagged it? Anyway, the cells provide cushioning and padding but without sacrificing traction or performance.

Performance

Speaking of performance, I have superior traction on the course with my Cell Fusions. In fact, I had to get used to having virtually no slippage in my stance, especially in my left foot. The first few shots with the Cell Fusions on my feet resulted in hard pulls left as my left foot did not give way or slip open. My body ended up turning around my stance rather than sliding with my feet. Now that Im used to the traction, my iron shots are very solid and my distance is improved.

The toes of the shoes even have great traction. Theres a pattern of mini traction Quills around the inside of each toe.

Conclusion

I have a tough choice to make when I pick out which golf shoes to wear. My Cell Fusions are currently in the #1 spot out of a at least a dozen pairs. The Puma Cell Fusions are super cool looking and the on-course performance is 2nd to none.

Phoenix Open – Metrosexuals On Tour

I like the new fashions of these new guns on tour. For one, theyre bringing more attention to the sport and theyre also creating entire product niches and markets with the white belts, fancy belt buckles, pastel and neon colors, diva sunglasses etc.

I only wish I was the brilliant one who coined the descriptive phrase metrosexuals on tour in reference to the Phoenix Open. That came from a forum thread over on The Golf Space. Id already come up with my own name for the tournament, which I thoroughly enjoyed by the way. Battle of the white belts.

We have Rickie Fowler in contention, wearing some very killer but slightly feminine Puma gear. Those amazing Puma Cell Fusion shoes he was wearing are the same ones Im reviewing right now. Stay tuned. Winner Hunter Mahan was sporting a white belt and cool sunglasses which looked to be a combination diva/Elvis style. No sideburns though unfortunately. Camilo Villegas was completely decked out in what Id call tightie whitie. His whole outfit was white and fit very tightly. Ya gotta have the body for that kind of getup, like me. Right.

Other quotes Hmm. Battle of the flat bellies (except for Mark Calcavecchia) or the other good forum quote: put on ice skates and they would have fit in with the Olympic Mens Figure Skating competition.

I think these guys are cool. Im really looking forward to the next few years on tour to see how they develop.
